When fans tune in to “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” this Friday, they may be surprised to see that the fourth Jonas brother, 9-year-old Frankie, has a part in the sequel to the hit 2008 flick “Camp Rock.” And co-star Demi Lovato says that the kid has some swagger.

“He’s the biggest rock star of all of them,” she told MTV News. “He’s got swag like Justin Bieber and he rocks out like Mick Jagger, so he’s kind of a combination of the two. He’s kind of like the ultimate rock star. Watch out, Justin Timberlake!”

TeenHollywood: Demi, you’re on everything lately. TV guest shots galore.
Demi: If you would have told me three years ago that I would have been doing this much, I would have said, ‘no way’. But I’ve been working at this for while so it’s an honor.

TeenHollywood: What about returning to “Camp Rock”?
Demi: Going back to ‘Camp Rock’, we had such a great time getting to shoot the second movie. The first movie was really great but I think the second one, we all stepped up our game. The first movie was us all being new. It was our first movie basically. It was definitely mine and, this time around, I knew what to expect. I was a little bit more seasoned as an actress and I tried my best.

TeenHollywood: There is a great duet you have with Joe Jonas. Your characters are kind of mad at each other and walking and talking and really belting it out! How different was that from what you’ve sung with him before because it seems to have more feeling. It was really good.
Demi: Thanks! It definitely had more feeling. I think being friends with someone for years at a time you’re able to do that. If I had just met him, it might have been more difficult to play those emotions. Might not have been but we’ve gone through a lot; not just me and him but all three of the brothers. We’ve been through so much together since the first ‘Camp Rock’ and Joe and I have been best friends and had our ups and downs so it wasn’t hard to be able to relate to the song but, at the same time, it was a blast. I love being able to show my emotions through song and my acting. I’d play dramatic over comedy, I think, any day. I love doing comedy though.

TeenHollywood: Can you tell us a set secret from “Camp Rock 2″?
Demi: I wish we’d played more pranks but we were so focused. But there was one day where it started snowing and it’s supposed to be the summertime. It was snowing while I’m in a silk mini-dress, freezing cold at four in the morning! I was miserable. After that day I was like ‘You know, I can do anything now’. We were shooting in Toronto.

TeenHollywood: Yikes! Was doing the episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” to give you a transition into more dramatic roles? [In the episode "Shiny Happy People" Demi played a mentally troubled teen].
Demi: Well, I’ve gotten a ton of feedback on that which is really incredible. The reason I took that role was it was a great opportunity to show that I love playing dramatic characters but for me, it was being on my favorite TV show! They came to me with that role and I was like ‘No way. That’s my dream role to play a crazy schizophrenic person [she laughs]‘ so I was really happy to do it.

TeenHollywood: How did you get involved in the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” show?
Demi: They were huge fans of ‘Camp Rock’, the children on the show and they were so sweet, so adorable. Their parents are incredible and I bonded with that family in the short time that I was there. They’re from the South and my family is from the South so there is a bit of connection there. There was a moment where the dad started crying, then I started crying and everyone is crying. That was on camera but still I had such a great time. That opportunity came to me and I couldn’t pass it up. That show is able to change people’s lives.

TeenHollywood: So you didn’t have to actually help build a house did you?
Demi: No but I built a snowman. I’ve been honored to be a part of that.

TeenHollywood: Where do you want your career to finally go?
Demi: I’ve been touring and hopefully, in ten years, I would have proved myself as a musician, songwriter, singer/actress/director/producer/script writer. I want to do everything.

TeenHollywood: So are you the younger Barbra Streisand then?
Demi: [laughs] With a little Tina Fey thrown in

They say it’s better to give than receive – and Demi Lovato was living that maxim this year. The teen star gave her family a gift on her 18th birthday.

“I just bought a house,” Lovato tells PEOPLE of a Mediterranean style home she purchased outside of L.A. “For me to give [that] to my family on my birthday, that was the best present.”

Lovato also plans to live on the property, in a house in the backyard. “It’s got pretty much everything you could possibly imagine in it,” she says. “It’s the most beautiful, homey-feeling house. I love it.”

And, as a bonus, “the pool has a water slide, which is really cool,” she says.

Celebrating her birthday with younger sister Madison de la Garza (of Desperate Housewives) and her Camp Rock 2 costars Joe and Nick Jonas, who were in town to promote the Disney Channel movie which premieres Sept. 3, Lovato and her pals dined at New York’s Buddakan – and finished off the evening with a cake.

Demi Lovato is currently on the road with the Jonas Brothers for their “Camp Rock 2″ tour, and she has one killer wardrobe, complete with bedazzled boots, lots of funky jewelry and cool, little dresses. So Lovato, who has admitted to shopping on tour, was a bit nervous when she gave MTV News a behind-the-scenes look at her outfits.

Lovato said that in the weeks leading up to the trek, she really had to focus and nail down the looks she wanted for her performances, which would include sets of her singing her own tunes as well as tunes from the “Camp Rock” movies. That means she needed looks that were both Lovato and Mitchie, her character from the movies. “When it comes to picking out outfits for the tour, I had a rack that filled out an entire warehouse,” she shared. “I just went through it and it took me like six, seven hours to fit all the outfits for the tour. It was fun!”

One of those looks is an edgy black and feather dress that screamed Lady Gaga. “It’s a dress and I’ve never really performed my own set in a dress before,” she shared at a rehearsal days before the tour kicked off last week. “So I’m excited.”

Another look was a sparkly teal dress that included some sky-high heels. “This is for one of the ‘Camp Rock’ looks that I sing the duet ['Wouldn't Change a Thing' with Joe Jonas] in, and here are the crazy shoes also,” she said. “I mean they’re not crazy like Lady Gaga, but for me they are. I’ve never performed in stilettos, so we’ll see how this goes.”

Lovato also shows off a multicolored dress with a little bronze jacket that suits her “Camp Rock” alternate persona perfectly. “Here’s another ‘Camp Rock,’ dress. Not something I would typically wear, but my character would,” she explained.

So, what inspires Lovato’s fashion choices for the show? “I feel like it’s more Rihanna than Lady Gaga. I’m a huge Rihanna fan and I also love spikes and anything leather,” she said, before showing off some heavy metal jewelry. “And I have this crazy jewelry. Actually this one [ring] is pretty crazy [with all its spikes], and the bracelets have twice as many spikes. Overall, I guess you can say there’s a ton of spikes in my wardrobe.”

After Demi Lovato played a raucous set of her original songs, some old-school “Camp Rock” numbers and a few tunes from the September 3 Disney Channel movie “Camp Rock 2,” Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas hit the stage for the inaugural stop of their new tour at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre on a steamy Saturday night.

The Jonas Brothers got their half of the party started with “Feeling Alive,” “Hold On” and “Year 3000,” and girls were immediately screaming, singing and dancing on their seats.

“How are you guys doing tonight? You excited for ‘Camp Rock 2′?” Joe asked the crowd before dancers hit the stage for an uptempo, country-tinged new tune from the soundtrack.

The guys played a number of songs off the soundtrack, and when Kevin asked for fans’ opinions of the new songs, he received a resounding cheer. The crowd went nuts when Demi came onstage to sing “This Is Me” along with the boys.

Joe and Demi also played their new duet, “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”

“You guys are awesome,” Demi told everyone before saying good night.

The next part of the night belonged to “L.A. Baby,” from their “JONAS L.A.” TV show. That led into a cover of the Beatles’ “Drive My Car.”

After “Paranoid,” Joe and Kevin gave their little bro, Nick, the stage for his solo “Who I Am.” “Thank you so much for loving me for who I am,” he told everyone.

Nick was rejoined by his brothers and took to the piano for “Fly With Me.” Then, girls went crazy for the ballad “When You Look Me in the Eyes.”

Telling the fans they were going to “take them back in time,” the Jonases played “Please Be Mine” as photos of the guys from over the years showed on a screen behind them.

Then the stage was transformed into a swanky jazz club, complete with dancers in ’20s garb, for “Lovebug.”

For the encore, the brothers brought out their hits “S.O.S.” and then “Burnin’ Up.” And on this sweltering night, it took little to make the crowd burn up themselves, but Nick stripping down to a tank top made the girls scream even more as the show drew to a close.

Following her highly publicized break-up with middle brother Joe, Demi Lovato is heading out on tour with the Jonas Brothers and the rest of the “Camp Rock 2″ crew this week. She took time to talk to CNS exclusively about her new music, new sound, and touring with her ex-boyfriend.

CNS: It’s been a year since your last album, “Here We Go Again”, and I hear you’ve been working on your third album already. What can you tell me about what you’ve written or recorded so far?

Demi Lovato: The new album so far it’s a little more pop, it’s more R&B. It’s a little more soulful. It has a different sound to it so I’m really excited to see how it turns out.

CNS: So it’s a little bit of a departure from your rock sound?

DL: Kind of, but I feel like I’m going to be doing that too so I might be incorporating rock and R&B.

CNS: So who would you saying is inspiring your sound right now?

DL: I would say Keri Hilson and Rihanna.

CNS: You worked with John Mayer on your last album. You guys hooked up through Twitter. Who would you send some tweets to and ask them to work with you on your new album?

DL: I would love, love, love to collaborate with Trey Songz. I think that’d be awesome.

CNS: I also heard that you wrote a Spanish song for your new album. What’s that like?

DL: I wrote a half Spanish song. It turned out really incredible so hopefully my fans will love it too.

CNS: “Here We Go Again” seemed already more mature than “Don’t Forget” and that was only released a few months later. It sounds like you’re planning on taking more time with this album.

DL: It’s something that I’m doing on purpose, you know. It’s something I want to focus on and really pour myself into it. I don’t want to rush it out. I definitely feel like I’m proud of everything I put out there.

CNS: So this is the first time there’s ever been a “Camp Rock” tour and I hear it’s going to bigger than your previous tours, with costume changes and all. How is it going to be different from your previous shows?

DL: “Camp Rock” is spread out through a lot of it. You’ll have to wait and find out.

CNS: In “Camp Rock 2″, there’s dancing during the numbers for “Can’t Back Down” and “It’s On”. Are you going to be dancing on stage this time around?

DL: I will be. I’m adding dancers to my own personal set, not just for “Camp Rock”. It’s going to be a whole other element and I’m excited to see how it turns out. I’m just excited for my fans to see it.

CNS: So you’ve toured with the Jonas Brothers before, but this is the first time since you and Joe’s breakup. How are you feeling about touring with Joe? Do you feel things are going to be different?

DL: We thought about it when we first started dating, you know, to think about the consequences or what would happen if we weren’t dating when it came to tour. It’s definitely something we thought about before and we’re just dealing with now. It’s not bad, you know. We had a really great friendship before and now we just have to keep it going.

Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, and the stars of “Camp Rock 2″ kick off their tour on August 7th in Tinley Park and continue on through November. “Camp Rock 2″ premieres on the Disney Channel September 3rd.

Fans of Demi Lovato shouldn’t expect to hear the Remember December singer’s new album anytime soon, as the Camp Rock star doesn’t want to “rush” releasing it.

“I’m just writing it right now,” Demi said of her third record – the follow-up to 2009′s Here We Go Again.

“When I went into it I totally wanted to do something completely different. Then I started straying back to where I was going, so I don’t know.

“But I definitely want it to be more mature than the last record.”

Demi added: “All of my records have been kind of rushed. This one I’m really taking the time with and not put it out after month of making it.”

Lovato – who turns 18 next month (August 20) – has recorded a Spanish song for the album. She also promised not to change her image too much when the record is released.

When Demi Lovato’s next album comes out, she has no plans to take Miley Cyrus’ untamed approach, and she won’t be ditching her squeaky-clean Disney sheen.

“I don’t think it’s going to change my image, not drastically,” the singer told us at VH1′s Do Something Awards about her third album. “It’s going to be what you’re seeing of me right now. It’s going to be very Demi.”

The Camp Rock actress, who turns 18 next month, did say…

“It’s more mature,” she explained. “It’s definitely grown up, but in a classy way.”

The Teen Choice-nominee, who guest starred on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy in May, also told us she’d love to make a return to ABC’s hit medical drama.

“I’d be there in a second,” she said. “I would come back as a doctor if I could.”
